School Based Services

One in five children and adolescents experience a mental health problem during their school years. Unfortunately, up to 60% of students do not receive the treatment they need to be successful in their home and/or school. Central Kansas Mental Health Center provides onsite services in schools by partnering with local school districts and has seen excellent results.

Benefits of School Based Services

  • Easy and convenient access to services
  • Earlier identification of issues can be treated more quickly
  • Students miss less class time and have better attendance records
  • Academic performance increases
  • Behavior improves
  • Better communication between CKMHC staff, parents and school staff

Services Provided in the Schools Include:

  • Individual Therapy
  • Family Therapy
  • Case Management
  • Social Emotional Skill-Building Groups
  • Attendant Care
