Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Central Kansas Mental Health Center (CKMHC) is seeking a visionary and results-driven COO to join our executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will provide strategic and operational leadership across all internal functions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for advancing mental health services and a proven track record in operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to set and execute organizational strategy, ensuring alignment with CKMHC’s mission and goals
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative programs and operational policies to meet the evolving needs of CKMHC
  • Oversee and optimize daily operations, ensuring the highest quality of care and efficient delivery of programs and services
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, regulatory compliance, and organizational sustainability
  • Monitor, track, and maintain compliance with all internal policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration throughout the organization
  • Mentor, coach, and support supervisors in operational best practices
  • Oversee and enhance the revenue cycle management process to optimize financial health
  • Analyze organizational performance and develop metrics to assess progress toward strategic goals
  • Serve as a key ambassador for CKMHC’s values and mission both internally and within the broader community

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field required, or a combination of education and demonstrated executive-level experience
  • Minimum of 7 years’ progressive operational leadership experience, preferably within behavioral health or a related healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and driving performance improvements
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance (including local, state, and federal guidelines)
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
