CKMHC’s COVID-19 Response

March 16, 2020

As the community mental health center for Dickinson, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Ottawa and Saline counties, Central Kansas Mental Health Center is committed to serving our patients, especially in times of uncertainty. First and foremost, the safety of our patients and staff is of utmost importance to us, and we are closely monitoring the current public health emergency regarding COVID-19/Coronavirus. We are remaining OPEN at this time.

If you are sick, we ask that you please stay home to avoid putting others at risk. Patients will be screened upon entry. Staff will be asking if you or anyone within your household has experienced a fever or a cough while feverish in the last 24 hours. Based on your answer, you may be told your appointment needs to be rescheduled.

Following the KDHE guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19 is an important way to decrease your risk. These guidelines are:
– Stay at home if you are experiencing symptoms.
– Practice preventative actions such as 20-second handwashing, cleaning frequently touched surfaces, covering coughs and sneezes with your elbow and avoiding touching your face.
– Practice social distancing by avoiding large gatherings and maintaining distance (approximately six feet) from others when possible.

Similar guidelines are being implemented with staff to ensure all employees you interact with while on our campus are not ill while serving you.

We understand that the COVID-19 outbreak is an evolving situation where information is being updated multiple times throughout each day. You can be confident that we are continuing to re-evaluate the precautions we have put in place to ensure we are following the most up-to-date recommendations. As always, we want you to know that we remain focused on providing quality care for those we serve while ensuring the safety of our community.
