Message from our Executive Director re: COVID-19

March 23, 2020

COVID-19 Response Update- March 23, 2020

In response to COVID-19, Central Kansas Mental Health Center is implementing the following changes to meet the behavioral health needs of our community and to do our part to keep our patients and employees safe. We have approached these decisions with great care.

Our intention is to remain open, providing all services while adhering to social distancing requirements. In this highly stressful time, we are committed to offering alternative ways to receive services to reach people who need us and reduce the spread of the virus.

Effective immediately and until further notice:

  • Services will be offered by telephone or televideo whenever possible, unless it is determined that an in-person appointment is necessary.  In such cases, face-to-face services are still being offered, following COVID-19 safety precautions.
  • We are accepting new patients. Please call our main number 785.823.6322 and reception will get you started.
  • For anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, please call our 24/7 crisis line at 785.823.6322 or 800-794-8281.

*For life threatening emergencies, call 911.

  • Genoa Pharmacy, located in our main office, will continue to fill prescriptions 8:30am-5pm (closed for lunch 12-12:30). They also offer mail delivery of medication at no cost. Curbside delivery is also available if you call ahead 785.914.5491.
  • For telephone/video appointments, your provider will contact you within 10 minutes of your scheduled appointment time. Therefore, please let us know if your telephone number changes.
  • If you need to schedule, reschedule, or have additional questions, please call 785.823.6322.

We also encourage everyone to pay close attention to their mental health in these stressful times. This unprecedented situation could cause heightened symptoms such as anxiety, excessive worry, or depression; even if you have never experienced a mental health condition in your life.  Check out our Facebook and website for free resources and updates that can help.

Wishing you good health and comfort,

Kathy Mosher, Executive Director
